Bernardston, Mass. — October 13, 2014 — The Springfield College men's golf team placed 21st at the ECAC Division III New England Men's Golf Championships Sunday afternoon at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club.
Taking a nine-stroke lead into the final round, Trinity College captured the title behind strong play by Greg Palmer, who shot a two-day total of 152.
Williams' College Grant Raffel earned individual medalist honors after scoring a two-day low of 151. Raffel carded the lowest score of the day Sunday, posting a three-over 75.
After Trinity College, the other top five team finishers included Williams College (315), Dartmouth (322), Middlebury (323) and Salem State (326).
Among Springfield College individuals, Greg Allen (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) led with a score of 171. Travis Price (Reading, Mass.) shot a 175 for the Pride, while Jordan Maynard (Norwich, Conn.) finished with 185 strokes.
The Pride will round out their fall season when they compete in the New England Championships October 26th and 27th.
