Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – October 12, 2025 – The Springfield College men's golf team wrapped up its weekend with a 14th place finish at the Skidmore College Fall Invitational held at Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Club.
Playing in the three-round 54 hole tournament on the 7,145 yard course, Springfield totaled 919 strokes for 14th place. The Pride posted a 305 in round one, a 300 in round two and a 313 in round three. In fact, the round two score of 300 was the lowest since Springfield matched that total at the 2019 MASCAC Championships. That same season, the Pride produced a mark of 299 at the Blazer Fall Invitational.
Matthew Kumpulanian (Wilbraham, Mass.) recorded a score of +7 on the weekend tying him for 30th place. The sophomore produced an eagle on hole 12 in his first round where he finished +1 and then tallied two birdies in round two to finish Saturday just +2. Kumpulanian wrapped the weekend with a birdie on hole four and 11 pars on Sunday.
Amir Ardolino (Wilbraham, Mass.) finished tied for 46th with a score of +13 over his 54 holes. The junior had his best round of golf in round two as he went -2 (70) with five birdies. Ardolino finished round two with the fourth lowest score across nearly 100 golfers

Ryan Wood (Foxboro, Mass.) tied for 65th with a +17 over the weekend, while
David Girouard (Chicopee, Mass.) tied for 69th just one stroke behind Wood.
Shane DeFilipi (Agawam, Mass.) tied for 88th with a +30 and
Justin Acquarulo (Branford, Conn.) tied for 90th with a +31.
Wood had his best round this afternoon as he posted a +3 (75) with a pair of birdies on the back nine in round three, while Girouard went +2 (74) in the opening round on Saturday with three total birdies. DiFilipi went +7 (79) in round two with two birdies in the front nine, while Acquarulo matched DiFilipi's +7 (79) in the second round with a birdie on hole six and a birdie on hole 17.
Springfield will wrap up the fall semester at the NEIGA Championships next weekend at The Captain's Course in Brewster.
