Golf Competes in Opening Round of NEIGA Championships

Brewster, Mass. - October 26, 2014 - The Springfield College golf team competed in the opening round of the 80th annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Division III Championships at The Captain's Course on Sunday.

As a team, Springfield totaled 383 strokes and sits in 22nd place.

First year Travis Price (Reading, Mass.) had Springfield's best round, shooting an 85. Jordan Maynard (Norwich, Conn.) was next with a 91, while Greg Allen (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) scored a 93. Matty Simmons (Wethersfield, Conn.) rounded out Springfield's scoring with a 114.

The Pride will round out their fall schedule on Monday in the second day of the NEIGA Championships.
