Brewster, Mass. - October 27, 2014 - The Springfield College golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its season after competing in the 80th annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships held at The Captains Course.
The Pride finished the two-day competition with 751 strokes to place 21st among the 22 Division III teams in the field. Rhode Island College won the event with 615 strokes, followed by Babson (629), Western New england (630), Husson (637), and Elms (642).
Jordan Maynard (Norwich, Conn.) was the Pride's top finisher, posting an 81 on Monday for a total of 172. Travis Price (Reading, Mass.) tallied a 91 in his second round to register a 176, closeley followed by Greg Allen (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) with a 177 after shooting an 84.
Matty Simmons (Wethersfield, Conn.) was Springfield's fourth golfer in the event and he recorded a two-day total of 224.
