Springfield, Mass. - October 14, 2021 - The Springfield College women's tennis team put forth another impressive showing as it cruised past visiting American International College on Thursday afternoon at Appleton Courts.
The Pride cruised in doubles play, as Ramida Manataweewat (Thailand, Bangkok) and Gabriella Heaney-Secord (Westford, Mass.) earned the first win of the day with an 8-0 victory at No. 3 before Rielly Malz (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Taylor Suozzo (Bedford, N.H.) posted an 8-1 win at No. 2. The top squad of Veronica Fulgieri (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) and Juliana Herrera (Villavicencio, Colombia) wrapped up doubles competition with an 8-6 win at No. 3.
For the second-straight day, Malz was the first one off the court in singles play following a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4, while at No. 3, Manataweewat prevailed 6-1, 6-1 and Heaney-Second registered a 6-4, 6-0 at the top spot for the Pride. Kate Rosselli (Trumbull, Conn.) battled her way to a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 6 and Suozzo concluded the evening with her 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 5.
