Box Score Babson Park, Mass. - October 29, 2022 - The Springfield College men's soccer program dropped its final regular season game to Babson, 3-0, on the road in NEWMAC play on Saturday afternoon.
Springfield finished the season 3-11-2 with Babson improving to 13-3-2.
Clayton Knibbs (Madison, Conn.) made three saves in the setback.
At 4:08, Babson scored its first goal as Ben Williams coralled a rebound after Knibbs made an initial save on a shot from Louis Gazo, but just could not get to the second attempt, which put the Beavers up 1-0. Springfield held strong blocking several attempts from the Beavers throughout the first half, however, Williams found the net once again to push the Beavers lead to 2-0.
Springfield made runs, but coulld not find scoring opportunities to close the defecit for the Beavers. Babson tacked on its third goal in the 73rd-minute to pull away to a three-goal lead. The Pride put pressure on the Beavers late with a heder try from Brandon Trent (Commack, N.Y.), but the Babson lead proved to be too strong.
