New London, Conn. - October 6, 2022 - The Springfield College men's tennis team traveled to Connecticut College and was edged by a 6-1 decision in non-conference play on Thursday.

Springfield was impressive at the No. 3 doubles spot, as Marc Villanueva Abad (Morelia, México) and Eric Nicander (Stockholm, Sweden) delivered a 6-1 victory .

Phakin Thongbooncharoen (Bangkok, Thailand) added a 7-5, 6-3 triumph at the No. 3 position in singles, while Nicander was edged at the No. 4 spot, 4-6, 6-2, 10-6.

Springfield will play again on Friday when it takes on Western New England at 4 pm.
