Women's Swimming and Diving Splits With Keene State and Wheaton

Norton, Mass. - November 12, 2022 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team continued their season with a tri-meet against Keene State and Wheaton College on Saturday. The Pride would best the Owls 199-90 and drop a 202-93 decision to the host Lyons. 

In the 200 medley relay, Carolyn Blenk (New Rochelle, N.Y.), Nina Lamb (Killingworth, Conn.), Mikaili Charlemagne (Casteries, St. Lucia), and Kay Shen (Hong Kong) would swim to a second-place finish, with an overall time of 1:45.80. Lefteri Roba (Worcester, Mass.) would capture the best result at the 1000 freestyle, as she grabbed third-place with a time of 11:18.61. She also went on to finish second in the 200 breast, putting in a time of 2:30.01. Elizabeth Fraser (Westfield, Mass.) delivered a third-place performance in the 200 freestyle, racing to a time of 2:00.36, as well as capturing first place later on in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:22.24.  In 200 individual medley, she also swam to a third place finish thanks to a time of 2:16.07.

Blenk continued her good results as she would claim a third-place finish in the 100 back, slotting in a time of 1:01.70. Charlemagne finished in the highest position for the 50 freestyle, registering a time of 24.28 seconds and later swam the 100 butterfly in 1:01.01. In the 100 breaststroke, Faith Morrison (Attleboro, Mass.) completed the race in 1:23.52.

Elizabeth Athanas (Manchester, Mass.) swam to third place, putting in a time of 2:19.35, in the 200-yard butterfly, while Natalie Chamberlin (Ellington, Conn.) finished in the top 10 for the 100-yard freestyle and contributing a time of 58.02. Emma Baumhauer (Fairport, N.Y.) recorded a top-four finish in the 200 back, as she touched in 2:15.05. 

On the one-meter diving board, Megan Crawford (Agawam, Mass.) achieved the highest place for the Pride with a second-place score of 200.95. Crawford would also grab first on the three-meter after scoring a 221.75 to beat out the competition. The Pride's day came to a close with the 400 freestyle relay, in which Shay, Chamberlain, Fraser, and Charlemagne would race to a second-place finish, off of a time of 3:38.74.  

The Pride will now gear up for a clash with Williams, which will take place on Friday night at 6 pm.
