Springfield, Mass. - November 18, 2022 -The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team was defeated by Williams, 206-89, on Friday night.
Carolyn Blenk (New Rochelle, N.Y.), Nina Lamb (Killingworth, Conn.), Mikaili Charlemagne (Casteries, St. Lucia), Kay Shen (Hong Kong) began the meet for the Pride with a second-place showing in the 400 medley team as they posted a 4:04.46.
In the 1,000 free, Lefteri Roba (Worcester, Mass.) registered a 11:18.08 and completed the 200 breast in 2:32.58. Elizabeth Fraser (Westfield, Mass.) turned in a 2:01.07 in the 200 free, and a team-best 1:02.76 in the 100 fly.
Emma Baumhauer (Fairport, N.Y.) recorded a 1:02.93 in the 100 back and Lamb produced a 2:20.94 in the 200 IM. Elizabeth Athanas (Manchester, Mass.) took runner-up honors in the 100 breast with a 1:09.44, while Shen also posted a second-place showing in the 50 free with a 24.74. Charlemagne delivered a second-place time of 54.88 in the 100 free
Maria Nenadic (Penfield, N.Y.) completed the 200 fly in 2:23.79 and registered a 5:43.09 in the 500 free, while Blenk finished the 200 back in 2:17.77. On the one-meter board, Megan Crawford (Agawam, Mass.) took third following a 196.95 and tallied a 198.53 on the three-meter.
Shen, Fraser, Chamberlin, and Charlemagne combined to swim a 3:40.35 in the 400 free relay to conclude the evening.
Springfield will compete in the three-day Gompei Invitational at WPI starting on December 2.
