Springfield, Mass. - March 23, 2022 - Competing on Appleton Courts for this first time this year, the Springfield College men's tennis team was bested by a 9-0 decision by Connecticut College on Wednesday afternoon.
The loss snapped the Pride's three-game winning streak as it dipped to 3-3 on the year.
In doubles play, Springfield's best showing came at the No. 3 spot as Sichen Ni (Hefei, Anhui, China) and James Foley (Fair Haven, N.J.) battled in an 8-6 setback.
Springfield had a pair of singles matches go the distance, as Zachary Taub (New Windsor, N.Y.) was edged by a 6-0, 4-6, 10-3 margin at No. 3 and Jiahe Ye (Beijing, China) fell 6-3, 2-6, 10-7 at the No. 5 spot.
Next up for Springfield will be a home contest against Bentley scheduled for 11 am on Saturday.
