Beverly, Mass. - March 27, 2022 - For the first time this season, the Springfield College women's tennis team was upended as it dropped a 6-3 decision to Endicott on Sunday.
Off to its best start in Division III program history, the Pride dipped to 7-1-1 on the season with the loss.
The Gulls started off the match strong earning all three doubles points, with Rielly Malz (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Ramida Manataweewat (Thailand, Bangkok) falling by a narrow 8-6 decision at No. 2.
Gabriella Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass.) continued her strong play at the top singles spot for the Pride as she powered her way to a 6-1, 6-2 win while Malz collected a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3. The Pride's third victory of the day came from Taylor Suozzo's (Bedford, N.H.) efforts at No. 4 as she rallied for a 1-6, 6-4, 10-7 win.
On Thursday, Springfield will travel to face Trinity for a 3:30 pm match.
