Cambridge, Mass. - April 1, 2022 - The Springfield College men's volleyball team hit the road on Friday night and earned a three-set win at MIT by the scores of 25-18, 25-18, 25-18. 

The nation's top-ranked team in the most recent AVCA Division III National Coaches Poll, Springfield is now 24-1 on the season.

Matt Lilley (Stony Brook, N.Y.) paced the Pride to a .320 hitting percentage as he handed out 24 assists and ripped six of Springfield's 10 aces. Jarrett Anderson (San Jose, Calif.) led all players with 10 kills, Nate Reynolds (Baltimore, Md.) produced six blocks, and Johjan Mussa Robles (Caguas, Puerto Rico) had a match-best nine digs.  Brennen Brandow (Manorville, N.Y.) stuffed his stat sheet with nine kills, five digs, four blocks, and two aces and Chris Parker (East Northport, N.Y.) added five blocks of his own as the Pride held the Engineers to a .037 hitting percentage.

Leading 14-13 in the first, Springfield used a three-point run capped off by an ace by Lilley to force the Engineers into a timeout.  The hosts would get as close as 19-17, only to have a 4-0 burst give the Pride a 23-17 advantage after Reynolds converted out of the middle.  Noah Weislo (Orchard Park, N.Y.) delivered the Pride's third ace of the night for the 25-18 win.

Tied up at five in the second, Springfield used three blocks and a kill from Reynolds as part of a 7-1 surge as the Pride opened up a 12-6 cushion. The visitors held a six-point edge for much of the set before the Engineers ninth attack error of the set completed the 25-18 win.

Trailing 3-2 in the third, Springfield benefitted from the tremendous serving of Lilley, as he cranked five aces to fuel a 9-0 run as the Pride's lead ballooned to 11-3.  After the Engineers battled back to within 15-10, Springfield used a block from Brandow and Troy Von Holt (Melville, N.Y.) to make it 18-10 as the Pride would coast to another 25-18 triumph.

Springfield will play its final Division III match of the regular season as he heads to Nichols on Sunday .
