Springfield, Mass. - April 9, 2022 - The Springfield College women's tennis team was defeated by MIT, 7-0, om New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Saturday.
The Pride is now 7-3-1 on the year.
In doubles play, the Engineers earned all three points, with the Pride's top team of Taylor Suozzo's (Bedford, N.H.) and Gabriella Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass.) and the No. 3 squad of Ramida Manataweewat (Thailand, Bangkok) and Kate Rosselli (Trumbull, Conn.) each falling by 8-1 decisions. Only four singles matches were played to completion, with Heaney-Secord falling 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot.
Springfield will host Emerson on Sunday for another NEWMAC clash.
