No. 7 MIT Upends Women's Tennis In NEWMAC Championship Semifinals

Cambridge, Mass. - May 7, 2022 - The Springfield College women's tennis team had its historic season come to a close on Saturday afternoon as it was toppled by No. 7 MIT, 5-0, in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship Semifinals.

The Pride was the fourth seed in the championship, their highest in program history, and ended the year with a 13-6-1 record.

In doubles play, Springfield's top squad of Taylor Suozzo (Bedford, N.H.) and Gabriella Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass.) put together an incredible performance in an 8-6 setback. Heaney-Secord would go on to fall by a 6-0, 6-1 decision in singles play in the Pride's top performance.
