Women's Tennis Edged By Connecticut College, 5-4, In Season Opener

New London, Conn. - September 17, 2022 - The Springfield College women's tennis team was clipped by Connecticut College, 5-4, in its season opener on Saturday.

The Pride earned two points in double competition as Jorja Mederick (Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia) and Kelly McGoldrick (Monroe, N.Y.) cruised to an 8-3 win at the No. 3 spot and Taylor Suozzo (Bedford, N.H.) and Gabby Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass.) delivered an 8-6 at the No. 2 position.

In singles play, Ramida Manataweewat (Thailand, Bangkok) earned to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2, while Emma Aberle (West Warren, Mass.) prevailed at No. 6 by a 6-1, 3-6, 10-8 decision at No. 6.

Springfield will compete again on Thursday when it travels to face Nichols.
