Springfield, Mass. - January 28, 2023 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team put together a great effort at home against Trinity College on Saturday afternoon to earn a 135-98 victory.
To start the day, the Pride took an early victory in the 200 medley relay, as Carolyn Blenk (New Rochelle, N.Y.), Nina Lamb (Killingworth, Conn.), Erin Kelaher (Tucson, Ariz.), and Kay Shen (Hong Kong) slotted in a time of 1:50.27.
Emma Savoie (Milford, Conn.) was impressive with a first-place victory in the 1000 free, producing a time of 10:59.84. Lefteri Roba (Worcester, Mass.) took home the win in the 200 free, as she clipped her competition with a 1:58.88. Mikaili Charlemagne (Casteries, St. Lucia) continued the victories for the Pride with a 24.17 in the 50 free.
Charlemagne would go on to win the 100 fly as well, registering a 59.55. Shen would capture the win at the 100 free in 53.46, while Savoie continued her winning at the 500 freestyle, with a 5:24.24. Emma Baumhauer (Fairport, N.Y.) would best the competition at the 100 back, as she finished first, putting forth a time of 1:02.08 and Lamb completed the 100 breast in 1:06.69.
Elizabeth Fraser (Westfield, Mass.) took the win in the 200 IM slotting in a time of 2:14.14. Megan Crawford (Agawam, Mass.) grabbed high scores once again, nabbing a first-place victory with a score of 361.36 on the one-meter and notching an event-best 337.21 on the three-meter.
In the final event of the afternoon, Charlemagne, Shen, Roba, and Chamberlin raced a 1:39.23 in the 200 free relay.
Springfield will conclude the weekend with a dual at Amherst on Sunday.
