Springfield, Mass. - February 10, 2023 - Wrestling on Alden Street for the final time this season, the Springfield College wrestling team earned a 29-15 victory over WPI on Friday night in the Springfield College Field House.

Springfield closed out the dual meet portion of its schedule with a 14-6 record.

After WPI earned a pin in the opening bout of the match at 197, Michael Filieri (Garfield, N.J.) responded with an 8-0 major decision at 285 to kickstart a run of six-straight victories for the Pride.  Isiac Paulino (Athol, Mass.) would follow with a hard-fought 5-2 decision at 125 before Gianni Manginelli (Dumont, N.J.) was sensational with a first-period technical fall by a 16-1 margin.  At 141,  Joey Parsons (Waldwick, N.J.) delivered a 4-3 win and Chase Parrott (Stamford, Conn.) added a 21-6 technical fall of his own at 149.  The Pride's lone pin of the day came from Jacob Deguire (Schenectady, N.Y.), as he put his opponent on his back in 5:28, at 157.  

WPI would respond with a decision at 165, only to have Brayden Grim (Gales Ferry, Conn.) produced a 7-5 overtime victory at 174 to conclude the Pride's scoring on the night.  WPI would benefit from a forfeit at 184 to wrap up the dual.
