MIT Upends Men's Tennis

Cambridge, Mass. - April 1, 2023  - The Springfield College men's tennis team was upended by MIT, 8-1, on Saturday in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) tilt. 

Springfield's No. 3 doubles team of Phakin Thongbooncharoen (Bangkok, Thailand) and Mike Kendrick (Watervliet, N.Y.) continued to compete at a high level and cruised to an 8-3 win for the Pride.  Springfield also had a strong show at the No. 2 spot, with Eric Nicander (Stockholm, Sweden) and Marc Villanueva Abad (Morelia, México) dropped an 8-4 setback. 

Nicander has the Pride's best showing in singles play as he dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 2.

Springfield will travel to Clark on Wednesday for a 3:30 contest.
