Men's Tennis Bows Out Of NEWMAC Championship Semifinals To MIT

Babson Park, Mass. - April 22, 2023  - The Springfield College men's tennis team were toppled by MIT, 5-0, in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship Semifinals on the campus of Babson College on Saturday.

The loss concluded a remarkable year for the Pride, as it reached the NEWMAC Championship Semifinals for the first time since 2017.  The postseason bid followed a regular season after Springfield earned the three seed in the conference tournament after earning four conference victories, its most since the 2000 campaign.

In doubles play, the Pride's best showing came from Tim Norin (Stockholm, Sweden) and Waseem Sablon (Stoughton, Mass.) as they were clipped 8-4 at the top spot.  After MIT picked up all three doubles point, the Engineers posted wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles to clinch the match.
