Springfield, Mass. - November 15, 2024 - The Springfield College wrestling team topped New England College, 45-6, on Friday evening under the lights in Blake Arena.

The win boosted Springfield's dual meet record to 4-0 on the year, while the Pilgrims dropped to 0-1 in their first dual of the year.

Starting off the match with the 141 pound bout, Ryan Kozdra (Mahwah, N.J.) delivered a second-period pin in 4:34 before Luke Temple (Jackson, N.J.) followed at 149 with a pin in just 43 seconds.  At 157 pounds, Lucien Perla (Stow, Mass.) was workmanlike in a 17-1 technical fall and Matthew Duquette (Bristol, Conn.) used a fast start to fuel his 23-7 technical fall. 

The Pilgrims picked up a decision win at 174 before Casey Allen (Park Ridge, N.J.) earned a 16-1 technical fall in the first period and Ben Katz (Medford, N.Y.) needed just 44 seconds to pick up Springfield's third pin of the day at 285.  At 125, Jack Callahan (Tewksbury, Mass.) produced another pin for the Pride, just beating the buzzer in the second period at 4:59, before NEC added a decision at 133.
