Springfield, Mass. – November 16, 2024 – The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team earned a tri-meet split on Saturday afternoon in the Art Linkletter Natatorium as it topped Wesleyan, 171-127, and was clipped by Williams, 197-96.
To begin the meet, Springfield's 400 medley team of
Maddie Symecko (Plantsville, Conn.), Nina Lamb (Killingworth, Conn.), Erin Kelaher (Tucson, Ariz.), and
Natalie Chamberlin (Ellington, Conn.) took third in
4:06.93.
Shen sprinted to a first-place finish in the 50 free with a 24.07, posted a third-place time of 1:57.75 in the 200 free, and raced the 100 fly in 1:02.05. In the 100 free, Chamberlin would touch first with a winning time of 54.33, while Lamb took first-place points in the 200 IM with a 2:16.74 and was the runner-up in the 100 breast after a 1:07.18.
Symecko would post a 1:03.32 in the 100 back and a team-best 2:18.59 in the 200 back, and In the 1,000 free,
Ally Burnett (Rochester, N.Y.) swam a team-best time of 11:36.03.
Natalie Norbut (Bristol, Conn.), completed the 500 free in 5:38.16,
Erica Kerner (Cherry Hill, N.J.) tallied a 2:30.72 in the 200 fly and
Gianna Farina (Easton, Pa.) recorded a 2:41.60 in the 200 breast.
On the one-meter board,
Annabel Culbreth-Loomis (Pelham, Mass.) registered a 235.10 for third and also took third on the three meter with a 260.20.
Springfield finished off the afternoon with a dominant showing in the 400 free relay as Chamberlin, Shen, Norbut, and Lamb cleared the field by nearly two seconds with a 3:38.89..
Next Saturday, Springfield will host Coast Guard in an 11 am dual.
