Worcester, Mass. – December 7, 2024 – Senior
Nina Lamb (Killingworth, Conn.) highlighted the efforts for the Springfield College women's swimming and diving team on day two of the 2024 Gompei Invitational held at WPI.
Lamb registered a third place finish in the 100-breast with an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:03.87. Lamb originally achieved the "B" cut of 1:04.25 during prelims this morning and then shaved the 0.32-seconds off her time to better her nationals cut.
Lamb also teamed up with
Kay Shen (Hong Kong),
Natalie Chamberlin (Ellington, Conn.) and
Erin Kelaher (Tucson, Ariz.) for a fourth place finish with a time of 1:36.19. Kelaher went on to place fourth in the 50-back in 27.02 and 15th in the 50-fly in 26.72, while Shen (1:56.49) and Chamberlin (1:58.25) took 13th and 26th, respectively, in the 200-free.
Shen and Lamb also teamed up with
Maddie Symecko (Plantsville, Conn.) and
Korryn Cartwright (Seekonk, Mass.) for seventh place in the 400-medley relay with a time of 3:58.09. Symecko also placed tenth in the 100-back (59.84) and eighth in the 50-back (28.23).
Emma Savoie (Milford, Conn.) also finished 13th in the 400-IM with a time of 4:46.74.
In the mixed relay, Shen and
Natalie Norbut (Bristol, Conn.) teamed up with Ben Terentyev and Dawson Milligan for 12th (1:33.20) in the 200-free relay.
The final day of the Gompei Invitational is set to get underway tomorrow morning at 9:00 am from WPI.
