Worcester, Mass. – December 8, 2024 – The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team wrapped up action at the 2024 Gompei Invitational on the campus of WPI on Sunday evening.
Over the course of the three day meet, the Pride produced 3778.5 points for fourth place beind Bryant University, WPI and Bentley University.
Nina Lamb (Killingworth, Conn.) and
Kay Shen (Hong Kong) produced victories for Springfield tonight as Lamb won the 50-breast in 29.17, while Shen took first in the 100-free in 51.65. Lamb also took fourth in the 100-IM in 59.87 before teaming up with Shen,
Natalie Chamberlin (Ellington, Conn.) and
Korryn Cartwright (Seekonk, Mass.) for fourth in the 400-free relay in 3:33.60.
Chamberlin went on to win the B final of the 100-free in 52.30.
Emma Savoie (Milford, Conn.) was Springfield's top finisher in the 200-fly in 2:22.22 and also posted a time of 2:13.97 in the 200-back just behind
Maddie Symecko (Plantsville, Conn.) who touched the wall in 2:13.61 in the 200-back.
Kylie Nordenstrom (Blaine, Minn.) rounded out the highlights for Springfield on the final night of the Gompei Invitational with her 19th place finish in the 1650-free in 19:03.90.
Springfield will return to dual meet action on January 11 at Union College.
