Ann Arbor, Mich. - February 17, 2024 - The Springfield College men's gymnastics program clashed with the University of Michigan and Arizona State on Saturday afternoon. The Pride turned in a team score of 384.850 to finish in second, besting Arizona State's mark of 381.700 while falling to the host Wolverines, who scored a 407.750.
Saturday's score marked the Pride's second-highest mark of the season and came just one week removed from producing a 397.850, which was the highest score in the ECAC to date this season.
Sam Kaplan (Fairhaven, Mass.) once again claimed first in the all-around as he turned in a 75.050 in the tri-meet, while
Peyton Cramer (Grapevine, Texas) delivered the routine of the meet for Springfield as he won the pommel horse with a 14.350.
Springfield started the day on the rings and received a fourth-place finish from Cramer whoe totaled a 13.250 and
Gustavin Suess (Portland, Ore.), who tied for fifth with a 13.200. The Pride then rotated to the floor where
Dominic Ramalho (Hollis, N.H.) tallied a 13.300 and
Evan Reichert (Oswego, Ill.) added a 13.200 for a pair of top-seven finishes. Cramer paced the Pride on the pommel, winning by a 0.750 margin, while classmate
Gio Mantia (Aurora, Ill.) took fifth with a 13.400.
On the horizontal bar,
Noah Dhaliwal (South Orange, N.J.) placed sixth with a 12.850. Ramalho took fourth on the vault after earning a 14.200 and
Owen Carney (Sterling, Mass.) was right behind him in fifth with a 14.050. Dhaliwal closed out the meet with another strong performance, this time on the parallel bars, as he was credited with a 13.250.
Springfield will compete against another Big 10 opponent on March 2 when it travels to face Penn State.
