Springfield, Mass. - February 4, 2024 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team fell to Amherst College by a final score of 165-77 on Sunday afternoon inside of Art Linkletter Natatorium.
The 200-medley relay team of senior
Carolyn Blenk (New Rochelle, N.Y.), junior
Nina Lamb (Killingworth, Conn.), junior
Kay Shen (Hong Kong) and junior
Erin Kelaher (Tucson, Ariz.) won the meet's first event with a time of 1:50.53.
Senior
Emma Baumhauer (Fairport, N.Y.) was the lone individual winner for the Pride as she completed the 100-back in a time of 1:01.79. Blenk went on to finish second in the 100-IM in 1:03.94, Kelaher went on to finish third in the 50-free in 25.28, Lamb went on to finish second in the 100-free in 55.82 and Shen went on to finish fourth in the 100-fly in 1:02.74.
Senior
Elizabeth Athanas (Manchester, Mass.) posted a runner-up finish in the 100-breast in 1:10.59, while sophomore
Paige Levine (Holtsville, N.Y.) and first-year
Natalie Norbut (Bristol, Conn.) took third in their respective events as Levin clocked a 5:47.66 in the 500-free and Norbut clocked a time of 2:06.37 in the 200-free.
Shen, Lamb, Kelaher and junior
Natalie Chamberlin (Ellington, Conn.) posted a runner-up finish in the 200-free relay in 1:39.23 to close the meet.
In the diving well, senior
Megan Crawford (Agawam, Mass.) took second on the boards as she posted a 1-meter score of 230.92 and a 3-meter score of 235.50.
Springfield will return to the pool on Saturday, February 10 for the team's final dual meet of the regular season against Babson College beginning at 12:00 pm.
