Springfield, Mass. - May 20, 2024 - The Springfield College women's lacrosse team had a pair of student-athletes collect Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region honors as Hannah Hibbert (Center Harbor, N.H.) and Lily Johnson (Oceanside, N.Y.) were recognized.
A total of 256 student-athletes from across the country were recognized and Hibbert and Johnson were among the 16 student-athletes who comprised the All-Berkshire Region Second Team. This marks the first time since 2021 that Springfield College has had multiple student-athletes earn IWLCA All-Region honors. Earlier this season, Hibbert was chosen to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference First Team and Johnson was named to the NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team.
Thanks to their efforts this season, Springfield College earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament as it returned to the national stage for the 10th time in program history. The Pride posted a 15-5 record in 2024, marking the second-most wins in program history. Hibbert had a sensational senior season as a dynamic defense force and led the team in both draw controls (63), ground balls (36), and caused turnovers (29) to go along with three goals and an assist. Johnson tallied a team-best 64 points, including a team-best 49 goals, as she netted six game-winning goals on the year to go along with 20 ground balls, 17 draw controls, and 14 caused turnovers.
