Northfield, Vt. – January 18, 2025 – The Springfield College wrestling team got back into the win column as the Pride topped Norwich University, 35-14, in a dual match on Saturday afternoon on the road.

Springfield picked up its ninth win of the season and is now 9-2 on the year.

After Norwich got the first points of the dual at 125, Kevin Sevigny (Wallingford, Conn.) gave Springfield a 6-3 edge after he pinned Robert Lyons in 4:46 at 133. Springfield then used back-to-back technical falls by Jaden Colwell (Lords Valley, Pa.) at 141 and Luke Temple (Jackson, N.J.) at 149 for a 16-3 lead.
 
Jacob Deguire (Schenectady, N.Y.) picked up a first period pin over Gabriel Moltumyr at 165 before Nick Rogers (Watertown, N.Y.) earned a 10-1 major decision at 174. Myles Leonard (Waldwick, N.J.) continued his outstanding season with a first period pin over Cooper Galvin at 184 as Springfield was rolling in the team score up 32-8. Nick Blitz (Massapequa, N.Y.) edged Ty Saeturn, 6-5, by decision at 197 to account for Springfield's 35 points before Norwich earned a pin at 285 for the 35-14 final.

Springfield will travel to Johnson & Wales next weekend for the Wildcat Open on Saturday and the NEWA Duals on Sunday.
