Springfield, Mass. - November 14, 2025 - Tied at 20 in the final dual of the night, Springfield College senior
Ben Katz (Medford, N.Y.) lifted the wrestling team past Western New England with a second period pin, 26-20, in Blake Arena on Friday night.
The Pride are now 3-0 in dual meets while Western New England drops its first dual of the season.Â
Springfield jumped out to an early 14-0 advantage following four-straight wins.Â
Hunter Sanchez (Lebanon, Conn.) took a 6-4 decision at 125 whileÂ
Jaden Colwell (Lords Valley, Pa.)Â added more points for Springfield with a 24-4 technical fall at 133.

(East Hartford, Conn.)Â then took a 7-1 decision at 141 before
Ty Stewart (Dracut, Mass.) took a 2-0 decision at 149 making the score 14-0.
Western New England then put its first points on the board with back-to-back pins from Matthew Rodriguez at 157 and Teghan McConnell at 165 to bring the score to 14-12. Max Bluhm then took a 19-4 technical fall at 6:19 to give the Golden Bears the lead, 17-14.
Matthew Hoxie (Nassau, N.Y.) then pinned Jaylen Hawkins in 3:59 at 184 before Charles Malloy outlasted
Oliver Parker (Pawtucket, R.I.) at 197 in an 8-4 decision to tie it up at 20.Â
Katz then came in and was able to pin Matthew Donnis in 2:22 to give the Pride the win over their crosstown rivals.Â
Springfield is back in action on Saturday, November 22 when it hosts the Doug Parker Invitational in the Springfield College Field House.Â
