Springfield, Mass. - December 12, 2025 - Springfield College wrestling took home a win against Roger Williams in a mat light dual on Friday night in Blake Arena behind pins from Myles Leonard (Waldwick, N.J.) and Isaac Quiles (East Hartford, Conn.), 25-13.
The Pride are now 4-0 in dual meets while Roger Williams goes to 5-3.
Leonard competed in his first match of the season, kicking off the meet at 184 and pinning Joshua Nieroda right at the end of the first period to take the 6-0 lead.
The Pride continued to add onto their lead after Oliver Parker (Pawtucket, R.I.) took a 10-3 decision at 197 and Ben Katz (Medford, N.Y.) added more points for the Pride with a 7-2 decision at 285 to make the score 12-0.
Spencer Buscema then took a 4-1 decision at 125 to give Roger Williams three points, before Esuar Ordonez (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) took a 15-5 major decision at 133.
With the Pride up 16-3, Quiles continued to dominate at 141 and pinned Shaun McLaughlin in 4:25 to go up 22-3.
Roger Williams won two-straight with Matt Castillo taking a 17-7 major decision at 149 and Jack Forte taking a 12-5 decision at 157 to increase its lead to 22-10.
Gabriel Thomasson (Norton, Mass.) took a 12-10 decision at 165 after overcoming a deficit before Matthew Hoxie (Nassau, N.Y.) sent Tyrell Newmann to a sudden victory period after being down seven points to start the match before Newmann took the 12-9 decision for the Pride to still take the dual meet win, 25-13.
Springfield will compete in the Scott Viera Open at Roger Williams tomorrow, December 13.
