Middletown, Conn. – February 1, 2025 – The Springfield College wrestling team fell to Wesleyan for the second time in a week as the Cardinals were victorious by a score of 27-18, in a dual meet held inside the Bacon Field House on Saturday.

Wesleyan improved to 7-1 this season, while Springfield dipped to 11-5.

Jaden Colwell (Lords Valley, Pa.) earned a first period pin over Amari Lewis at 133 for a 6-3 Springfield edge, but Wesleyan earned points at 144 in a major decision, 149 by pin, 157 in a major decision, 165 by decision and 174 in sudden victory for 23-6 advantage.

Springfield received 12 combined points from pins by both Myles Leonard (Waldwick, N.J.) in 2:11 at 184 and Ben Katz (Medford, N.Y.) in 3:48 at 285. Both Leonard and Katz rank in the top-5 nationally in pins this season as they both continue their stellar campaigns.

Springfield will travel to Johnson & Wales for a quad meet featuring the No. 4 Wildcats, No. 6 Castleton, No. 21 Springfield and Delaware Valley beginning at 1:00 pm.
