Springfield, Mass. – February 2, 2025 – The Springfield College women's gymnastics team produced a season-high score of 185.300 as the Pride finished fourth at its 2025 home opener in Blake Arena this afternoon against Ithaca College, Ursinus College and Rhode Island College.
Sage Kaplan (Auburn, Mass.) registered a fourth place finish in the all around competition with score of 36.925 individually producing scores of 9.600 on the floor, 9.475 on the vault, 8.950 on the uneven bars and 8.900 on the balance beam.
Springfield began its day on the vault and tallied a combined score of 46.700 the third highest of the four teams competing. Behind Kaplan was
Claire Geiger (Independence, Ky.), who took 15th with a score of 9.450.
Springfield then went to the uneven bars where
Ayako Maeda (Tokyo, Japan) took fourth overall with a team-best score of 9.525 just one tenth of a point out of first. Behind Kaplan in 12th was
Sarah Brownstein with a score of 8.850.
Maya Belog (Sturbridge, Mass.) produced the best score for Springfield on the balance beam with a 9.650 for seventh overall, while
Brenna Johnson (Plainfield, Conn.) posted a 9.475 for 14th and Brownstein tallied a 9.300 to finish in the top-20.
Finally on the floor,
Stacy Taylor (Biddeford, Maine) and
Delaney LaViolette (Holden, Mass.) tied for seventh place with a score of 9.700, while
Julia Reer (Cedar Grove, N.J.) recorded a 9.625 for 12th.
Springfield will travel to the University of Bridgeport next Sunday for a quad meet featured the host Purple Knights, Rhode Island College and Wilberforce.
