Worcester, Mass. – February 23, 2025 – The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2025 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships with a fourth place finish with 636 points over the four day meet.
MIT won the meet with 1678 points and was followed by Coast Guard (750), Wheaton (677), Springfield (636), WPI (454), Wellesley (435), Babson (416), Smith (342), Mount Holyoke (183.5) and Clark (180.5).
Nina Lamb (Killingworth, Conn.) recorded the best individual finish of the day as she took home another silver medal as she clocked a 2:18.55 in the 200-breast.
Gianna Farina (Easton, Pa.) competed in the consolation final of the event and finished 18th in 2:36.82.
Kay Shen (Hong Kong) and
Natalie Chamberlin (Ellington, Conn.) competed in the championship final of the 100-free as Shen placed sixth in 52.14, while Chamberlin took seventh in 52.57.
Natalie Norbut (Bristol, Conn.) also competed in tonight's consolation final of the 100-free taking 20th in 55.59.
Kylie Nordenstrom (Blaine, Minn.) paced Springfield in the 1650-free as she clocked an 18:31.34 for ninth overall, while
Ally Burnett (Rochester, N.Y.) placed 18th in 18:56.80 and
Paige Levine (Holtsville, N.Y.) took 20th in 19:10.97.
Emma Savoie (Milford, Conn.) and
Maddie Symecko (Plantsville, Conn.) registered 15th place (2:11.05) and 16th place (2:11.26) finishes, respectively, in the 200-back.
In the diving well,
Elizabeth Santos (Chicopee, Mass.) led the charge for Springfield on the 3-meter board as she finished sixth with a score of 430.70.
Annabel Culbreth-Loomis (Pelham, Mass.) took eighth with a 422.30 and
Bridgette Hogan (Marshfield, Mass.) took ninth with a 410.10.
Springfield's 400-free relay squad of Chamberlin, Norbut, Shen and Lamb ended the meet with a bronze medal finish earning a spot on the podium with a time of 3:31.35.
Up next, Springfield will host the 2025 NCAA Division III Northeast-North Diving Regionals beginning on Friday in Art Linkletter Natatorium.
