Women's Swimming and Diving Falls at Babson in Regular Season Finale

Babson Park, Mass. – February 8, 2025 – In its final dual meet of the 2024-25 season, the Springfield College women's swimming and diving team fell to Babson College, 121-118. Springfield caps its season with a record of 7-6 in dual meets.
 
Springfield began the meet with a first place finish in the 200-medley relay as Maddie Symecko (Plantsville, Conn.)Nina Lamb (Killingworth, Conn.), Erin Kelaher (Tucson, Ariz.) and Kay Shen (Hong Kong) clocked a time of 1:49.97.

On the swimming side of the meet, Springfield claimed three individual wins – two of which came from Lamb. Lamb posted a first place time of 2:13.21 in the 200-IM and a first place time of 2:27.87 in the 200-breast. Meanwhile, Natalie Chamberlin (Ellington, Conn.) posted a first place finish in the 100-free in 54.12 and a runner-up finish in the 200-free in 2:03.28.
 
Springfield took runner-up honors in four other events. Kelaher finished second in the 50-free in 26.22, Symecko took second in the 200-back in 2:14.63, Emma Savoie (Milford, Conn.) posted a second place finish in the 500-free in 5:36.83 and Ally Burnett (Rochester, N.Y.) placed second in the 1000-free in 11:28.43. Erica Kerner (Cherry Hill, N.J.) was Springfield's fastest swimmer in the 200-fly as she finished third in 2:26.24.
 
Shen, Chamberlin, Kelaher and Savoie rounded out the meet with a second place finish in the 200-free relay with a time of 1:41.51.

Springfield swept the top three places on both diving boards. On the 1-meter board, Elizabeth Santos (Chicopee, Mass.) won the event with a first place score of 286.80 and was followed by Bridgette Hogan (Marshfield, Mass.) with a 255.82 and McKenzie Aparo (Bristol, Conn.) with a 255.52. All three posted NCAA diving regional qualifying scores. On the 3-meter board, Annabel Culbreth-Loomis (Pelham, Mass.) won the event with an NCAA diving reginonal qualifying score of 309.83 and was followed by Olivia Dragon (Wilbraham, Mass.) with a 258.23 and Grace Baker (Ellington, Conn.) with a 244.13.

Springfield is slated to open the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships on Thursday, February 20 at WPI.
