Deguire Finishes Sixth at 165 to Earn Second NCAA All-America Honor of His Career

Providence, RI – March 15, 2025 – Springfield College senior Jacob Deguire (Schenectady, N.Y.) wrapped up another outstanding season this afternoon with a sixth place finish and All-America honors at the 2025 NCAA Division III Wrestling National Championships held at the Amica Mutual Pavilion on Saturday.

Deguire made his way into the consolation semifinals following a medical forfeit by Nicholas Sacco of TCNJ. In the consolation semifinals Deguire was edged by Brayden Peet of Wisconsin-Whitewater by decision, 6-0 as Peet used a second period reversal and a third period takedown to account for the final score.

Deguire fell into the fifth place match where he faced Andrew Supers of Baldwin Wallace University where he finished his season dropping a closely contested match by decision, 22-21. Deguire held a 17-10 edge through one period, but back-to-back nearfalls by Supers in the second knotted the score at 17 heading into the third. A nearfall early in the third put Supers ahead 21-17, but an escape and a takedown by Deguire evened the match at 21. Supers ultimately won on riding time to advance to the third place match.

Deguire ends his senior season as a two-time NCAA All-American after finishing in sixth this afternoon and third two years ago.

As a team, Springfield produced a team score of 15 points at this year's NCAA Division III National Championships.
