Palacio Claims Gold as Men's Gymnastics Finishes Fourth at ECAC Championships

Indianola, Iowa – April 5, 2025 – The Springfield College men's gymnastics team produced a fourth place finish at the 2025 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Simpson College.

Springfield notched a score of 306.800 to finish behind Army (313.500), Navy (309.550) and Greenville (307.300). William and Mary took fifth with a score of 306.000 and the hosts finished sixth with a mark of 299.600.

Kaleb Palacio (Barcliff, Texas) was crowned ECAC Champion in the floor exercise leading the way with a 13.650, while Owen Carney (Sterling, Mass.) took runner-up honors with a 13.600. Will Wilson (Montgomery, Ala.) finished just outside the top-5 on the floor with a 13.400.

Palacio is the first to ever win an ECAC title on the floor exercise for the Pride and is just the 18th student-athlete in Springfield College men's gymnastics history dating back to 1932 to win an ECAC individual title.

Palacio also recorded a runner-up finish in the all-around with a combined score of 76.600 as individually in addition to his win on the floor, took third on the vault (14.100), ninth on the parallel bars (12.700), tenth on the high bar (12.800), 21st on the pommel horse (12.000) and 26th on the still rings (11.350).

On the pommel horse, Felix Kriedemann (Strasslach, Germany) and Devon Felsenstein (Blue Bell, Pa.)tied for seventh with a score of 12.850 and was followed by Gio Mantia (Aurora, Ill.) in 13th with a 12.400. Matt Browne (Decatur, Ga.) and Wilson paced Springfield on the still rings tying for 12th with a 12.550 as they were closely followed by Blaise Rousseau (Brecksville, Ohio) in 14th with a 12.500.

Carney was Springfield's top finisher on the high bar in seventh place with a 12.950.

Springfield will now await word of individual qualifiers for the 2025 NCAA National Collegiate Championships on April 18-19 at the Crisler Center on the campus of the University of Michigan.
