Uxbridge, Mass. - September 21, 2025 - The Springfield College men's golf team finished as the runner-up at the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championship this afternoon at Blissful Meadows Golf Club.
As a team, Springfield finished second only behind Marymount (Va.), who claimed the league's automatic berth to the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships in May. The Pride finished two strokes ahead of Salem State as well as ahead of MCLA, Westfield State, Marywood and Worcester State.
Highlighting the weekend was an outstanding performance by senior
David Girouard (Chicopee, Mass.), who tied for first individually where it had to be broken over a playoff following 36 holes. Girouard produced a 74 (+2) this afternoon tying him for first with Matthew Tramonte of Salem State, who just beat out Girouard by a stroke in the playoff hole.
Also earning All-MASCAC honors were first-year
Ryan Wood (Foxborough, Mass.), who recorded a day two score of 79 (+7) to finish tied for third overall, and junior
Amir Ardolino (Wilbraham, Mass.), who recorded a 76 (+4) to finish eighth overall in the field of 35 student-athletes.
Girouard bettered his day one score by five strokes are Ardolino bettered his day one score by seven strokes to make the push for the All-Conference Team.
Matthew Kumpulanian (Wilbraham, Mass.) finished 19th overall with a day two score of 86 (+14), while
Aidan Strebel (Branford, Conn.) also recorded an 86 (+14) this afternoon to finish 25th overall on the leaderboard.
Springfield will next head to New York for the RPI Invitational on October 5 and 6 at Shaker Ridge Country Club.
