Springfield, Mass. – January 30, 2026 - The No. 21 ranked Springfield College wrestling program defeated Trinity College (Conn.), 42-3, in a senior night dual meet on Friday inside Blake Arena. Tonight's dual between the Pride and the Bantams was the first meeting since February of 2008.

Springfield improved to 9-1 this season, while Trinity fell to 2-8. In 11 total meetings between the two sides, Springfield holds an 8-3 advantage in the series. Tonight's dual as also the first one between the programs in Western Massachusetts since February of 2000.

Springfield used back-to-back decisions by Jack Callahan (Tewksbury, Mass.) at 125 and Esuar Ordonez (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) at 133 for an early 6-0 lead before a forfeit by Trinity at 141 made the team score 12-0. Callahan won his match 6-0 after using a third period take down, while Ordonez took a 6-3 decision in his bout.

Trinity got three points back at 149 as Andrew Pratt earned a 5-1 decision for the Bantams, but an immediate answer at 157 as Ryan Kozdra (Mahwah, N.J.) defeated Durkin Stankevich by major decision, 12-0, as the Pride extended the lead to 16-3 midway through the dual.

Gabriel Thomasson (Norton, Mass.) earned a 14-3 major decision over Chase Ledbury at 165 before Jacob Deguire (Schenectady, N.Y.) and Myles Leonard (Waldwick, N.J.) used back-to-back pins – both coming in under 30 seconds putting Springfield's team score at 32.

Springfield capped the dual with duplicate 17-1 technical falls by Nick Rogers (Watertown, N.Y.) at 197 and Ben Katz (Medford, N.Y.) at 285 resulting in the 42-3 final team score on Friday night.

Springfield will travel to Hartford for the Trinity quad tomorrow and take on Hunter College and the University of Bridgeport beginning at noon.
