Springfield, Mass. – January 5, 2026 – Springfield College senior Ryan Kozdra (Mahwah, N.J.) has been named as the New England Wrestling Association's (NEWA) Wrestler of the Week following his performance at the Scott Viera Open.

Kozdra the individual title at 141lbs at the Scott Viera Open going a perfect 4–0 on the day, recording three pins and one major decision. In the finals, he secured a 2:13 fall over defending Region I champion Jake Eckerle of JWU. Kozdra's record now sits at 16-5 for the season, with 8 wins coming via pinfall.

Springfield (4-0) will travel to Lycoming College this weekend for the Budd Whitehill National Duals.
