Worcester, Mass. – February 14, 2026 – The Springfield College wrestling team, ranked 12th in the latest Open Mat Division III dual meet poll, defeated WPI, 47-0, in its final dual of the regular season on Saturday afternoon in Harrington Auditorium.

Springfield caps its dual meet season at 15-1 marking the most dual meet victories for the Pride since the 2019-20 campaign. Springfield's lone setback this season came to nationally-ranked UW-Eau Claire at the Budd Whitehill Duals. Along the way, the Pride toppled four nationally-ranked programs highlighted by last weekend's victories over No. 10 Castleton and No. 14 JWU.

Today marked Springfield's first shutout dual meet win since a 50-0 victory over Norwich on January 22, 2023.

Springfield began the meet with a 9-7 decision at 125 by Jack Callahan (Tewksbury, Mass.) before Esuar Ordonez (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) put Joel Puri on his back in the first period for a 9-0 lead. An 18-3 technical fall by Isaac Quiles (East Hartford, Conn.) paired with another first period pin from Ty Stewart (Dracut, Mass.)extended Springfield's lead to 20-0.

Ryan Kozdra (Mahwah, N.J.) picked up a 9-4 decision over Jonah Weber at 157 and Gabriel Thomasson (Norton, Mass.) earned a 19-3 technical fall over Ryan Addeche at 165 upping Springfield's lead to 28-0. Jacob Deguire (Schenectady, N.Y.) and Myles Leonard (Waldwick, N.J.) both used first period pins at 174 and 184, respectively, to put the dual well out of reach. The dynamic duo finished their dual meet season with a combined record of 29-0 with 27 pins.

Oliver Parker (Pawtucket, R.I.) went on for a 6-1 decision win at 197 over Joe Bernard before Ben Katz (Medford, N.Y.) wrapped the dual with a 10-1 major decision over Trevor Bowen at 285 accounting for the 47-0 final on Saturday.

Springfield will head to Coast Guard for NEWA Futures tomorrow morning at 11:00 am.
