Cambridge, Mass. – February 20, 2026 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving finished competition on the second day of the 2026 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships inside the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center Pool on Saturday.
In the team standings, Springfield sits in eighth place with 157 points. MIT leads the pack with 615 points and is followed by Coast Guard (305), Wellesley (246), Babson (232), Wheaton (200), Smith (197), WPI (176), Springfield (157), Clark (105) and Mount Holyoke (94).
Tonight's meet began with the 200-free relay as
Natalie Norbut (Bristol, Conn.),
Kiana Riera (Cranford, N.J.),
Emma Savoie (Milford, Conn.) and
Kylie Nordenstrom (Blaine, Minn.) clocked a time of 1:43.96 for ninth place in the championship finals.
Norbut, Savoie and Nordenstrom teamed up with
Lizzy McMahon (Rensselaer, N.Y.) in the final event of the night – the 400-medley relay – and also took ninth place with a championship finals time of 4:12.30.
Both McMahon and Savoie swam in the consolation finals of their respective individual events this evening as McMahon clocked a 5:20.71 for 17th overall in the 500-free, while Savoie notched a 2:15.14 for 19th overall in the 200-IM.
Riera was Springfield's top finisher on the 50-free as she clocked a time of 26.67 during prelims this morning in the field of 56 student-athletes from across the league.
In the diving well,
Elizabeth Santos (Chicopee, Mass.) recorded a fifth place finish on the 1-meter board with a score of 424.00, while
Bridgette Hogan (Marshfield, Mass.) notched a 399.00 for eighth place to round out the night.
Springfield will return to the pool tomorrow at 10:00 am for prelims on day three of the NEWMAC Championships. Tomorrow's events include the 400-IM, 100-fly, 200-free, 100-breast, 100-back and the 200-medley relay.
