Orlando, Fla. – March 17, 2026 – The Springfield College women's tennis team defeated St. Norbert, 7-0, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando on Tuesday night under the lights.
Springfield improved to 2-2 on the year and picked up its first victory of the week in Florida.
Springfield won all three doubles matches tonight.
Kapom Vettayawaikoon (Phuket, Thailand) and
Natalia Peyon (Discovery Bay, Hong Kong) clipped Jordan Domnick and Allison Unverzagt, 7-6, at No. 1 before
Peyton Gaudreau (Branford, Conn.) and
Ava Shea (Belchertown, Mass.) picked up a 6-2 win at No. 2.
Erica Jud (Glen Head, N.Y.) and
Alyssa Elliott (Gros-Islet, Saint Lucia) blanked Ava Nankervis and Madeline Diefenthaler, 6-0, at No. 3.
Five of the six singles matches were decided in straight sets as Gaudreau won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, Vettayawaikoon won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 and Elliott won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3.
Kelly McGoldrick (Monroe, N.Y.) blanked her opponent at No. 4, Shea won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 and
Elizabeth Houdelette (Marion, Mass.) came back from a set down to win 2-6, 6-4, 12-10 at No. 6.
Springfield will take on William Smith at 11:30 am tomorrow at Sanlando Tennis Center.
