Men's Tennis Finishes Florida Stint With 6-1 Setback to Hamilton

Orlando, Fla. – March 19, 2026 – The Springfield College men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 34 Hamilton College in its final contest played in Florida this year.

Springfield is now 4-5 on the season and will return home to open NEWMAC play next Saturday, March 28 at Wheaton College. Springfield has eight contests left in the regular season – seven NEWMAC matches – and one non-conference match against Farmingdale State early in April.

Hamilton earned the doubles points winning easily at No. 1 and No. 2. Angelo Guzman (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.)and Liam Huppke (Markham, Canada), however, fended off the doubles sweep by the Continentals by winning 6-4 at No. 3.

Hamilton took five of the six singles points in straight sets, but Huppke was the lone winner for the Pride at No. 6 as he topped Alexander Salib in three sets. Phakin Thongbooncharoen (Bangkok, Thailand) put up a fight at No. 5 for the Pride, but fell by scores of 7-6, 6-3.
