Marlborough, Mass. - March 30, 2026 - Springfield College softball senior
Amelia DeRosa (Miller Place, N.Y.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Athlete of the Week for the second straight week and third time this season.
DeRosa lifted Springfield to four wins this week with a .429 batting average (.6-for-14). DeRosa recorded a team-best nine RBI including seven in which came in a doubleheader against Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday. The senior infielder also scored eight of Springfield's 37 runs on the week, notched three doubles, one triple and drew three walks. DeRosa also went 2-0 in the circle for the Pride pitching a five inning, two hit, complete game shutout in Springfield's NEWMAC opener against Salve Regina on Sunday. DeRosa struck out eight of the 18 Seahawks she faced and needed only 48 pitches to earn the 11-0 win for the Pride.
The Pride head to Western New England on Wednesday for a 3:00 pm start.
