Box Score Weston, Mass. – April 11, 2026 – The Springfield College men's tennis team improved to 4-0 on conference play behind a 5-2 victory over Emerson College on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Regis College.
In doubles play, Springfield picked up the point with 6-4 wins by
Austin Prendiville (City Beach, Australia)and
Phakin Thongbooncharoen (Bangkok, Thailand) at No. 2 and
Liam Huppke (Markham, Canada) and
Angelo Guzman (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) at No. 3.
The Pride went on to win four of the six matches in singles play highlighted by a three set thriller at No. 2 by Prendiville as he defeated Connor Leung 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. Springfield won its matches in straight sets at No. 4 from
Marc Villanueva Abad (Barcelona, Mexico), 6-3, 6-3, at No. 5 from Huppke, 6-0, 6-1 and at No. 6 from
Ethan Gomulka (San Bernardino, Calif.), 6-4, 6-2.
Springfield will host Salve Regina University tomorrow at 2:00pm for its senior day match on the Appleton Tennis Courts.
