Babson Park, Mass. - April 18, 2026 - In a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup, the Springfield College women's tennis team was shutout by nationally-ranked No. 6 Babson on Saturday afternoon, 7-0.
The Pride drop to 9-6 overall and 4-3 in the NEWMAC as the Beavers improve to 12-3, 6-0.
In a strong showing from Babson, the Beavers swept the three doubles matches as Natalia Peyón (Discovery Bay, Hong Kong) and Kapom Vettayawaikoon (Phuket, Thailand) fought hard at No. 1 doubles losing to Matia Cristiani and Alessandra Cristiani 6-3.
Babson went on to defeat Springfield in straight sets in all six singles matches. Ava Shea (Belchertown, Mass.) battled at No. 6 but ultimately fell to Grace Stacher 6-2, 6-4.
The Pride host No. 8 MIT on Tuesday at 3:30 pm on the Appleton Tennis Courts for the final match of the regular season.
