Springfield, Mass. – November 9, 2013 – The Springfield College men’s swimming and diving team dropped a 233-61 decision in a dual meet against visiting MIT on Saturday afternoon in the Art Linkletter Natatorium.
SpringfieldÂ's Jack Lewis (Durham, N.H.) had a dominant performance on the three-meter board, producing a national-qualifying score of 291.53 to earn first place points. Lewis also took second on the one-meter board with a score of 254.77.
In the pool, Springfield had several strong showings. Pat Geraghty (Holyoke, Mass.) took runner-up in the 200 butterfly after touching in 1:59.47. In the 100 backstroke, Michael Normoyle (Springfield, Mass.) took third clocking in at 1:00.42. Jason Scotto (Southbury, Conn.) placed third posting a time of 23.07 in the 50 freestyle.
In addition, Hayden Cassidy (Ada, Mich.) touched third in the 100 freestyle in 49.45.
The Pride will host Williams on Friday at 6:30 pm.
