Springfield, Mass.- November 15, 2014- The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team hosted a tri-meet in the Art Linkletter Natatorium on Satruday afternoon with Keene State and Wheaton. The Pride edged Wheaton 154-144 and were defeated by Keene State 198-100.
Michael Normoyle (Springfield, Mass.), continued to lead the Pride as he ended the day with two first place finishes. The junior won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.63, and later won the 200 breaststroke at the 2:14.92 mark. Normoyle competed in the 200 IM, where he placed second in 2:03.89.
Freshman Kent Parsons (Hamilton, Mass.) had a strong showing in the 200 IM as he touched the wall first in 2:02.29.
Once again, Jack Lewis (Durham, N.H.) was victorious on both the one and three-meter boards. Lewis ended the day with a 328.45 on the one-meter and 310.70 on the three-meter, both qualifying marks for the NCAA Regional Diving Championship.
Liam Barnes (Cheshire, Conn.) also had a standout day on the boards as he posted a 279.65 on the one-meter board and a 291.55 on the three-meter board. Both scores were national qualifying marks.
Springfield travels to Williamstown on Friday to take on Williams College in a dual meet at 6:00 pm.
