Springfield, Mass.-November 8, 2014- The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team fell 229-71 in a dual meet against visiting MIT on Saturday afternoon in the Art Linkletter Natatorium.
Springfield's Jack Lewis (Durham, N.H.) had a dominant performance for the Pride as he not only finished first on both the one and three meter boards, but presented national qualifying scores in each respective competition. Lewis accumulated a score of 283.35 on the one-meter board and ended the day strong on the three-meter board posting a 302.70.
Michael Normoyle (Springfield, Mass.) led the way for the Pride in the pool as he competed in the 50-yard freestyle (22.81), 200-yard backstroke (2:12.05), 200-yard IM (2:04.50), and finished his day in the 400-yard medley with teammates Daniel Fay (Yorktown, N.Y.), Kent Parsons (Hamilton, Mass.) and Hayden Cassidy (Ada, Mich.) (3:42.36).
The Pride return to the pool next Saturday as they play host to Keene State and Wheaton College in a tri-meet at 1:00 pm.
