Springfield, Mass. - January 10. 2015 - The Springfield College men's swimming and diving program fell to Middlebury, 175-123 on Saturday afternoon in the Linkletter Natatorium, despite impressive showings from junior Michael Normoyle (Wilbraham, Mass.).

Normoyle took home first-place finishes in both the 50 and 100 Breast, as he raced to a time of 27.80 in the 50, before posting a 59.84 in the 100, good for the top spot. To begin the day's events, the team of Daniel Fay (Yorktown, N.Y.), Tommy Normoyle (Wilbraham, Mass.), Jimmy Stinehart (Southwick, Mass.) and Sam Grudzien (Fiskdale, Mass.) turned in a time of 1:43.02, claiming third place for the Pride, before Alex Beauvais (Ipswich, Mass.) recorded a 11:02.75 in the 1000 Free, good for fourth overall.

Senior diver Jack Lewis (Durham, N.H.) was victorious on the 1-Meter board with a score of 306.01, while freshman Liam Barnes (Cheshire, Conn.) took the top spot on the 3-Meter board with a score of 280.51.

In the 200 Free, Kent Parsons (Hamilton, Mass.) finished third overall with a time of 1:49.14, while Kelly Dullard (Waterbury, Conn.) posted a second-place finish in the 50 Back with a time of 26.70. Fay recorded a 56.35 in the 100 Fly and finished as the Pride's top finisher in the event, before Hayden Cassidy (Ada, Mich.) posted a 23.17 in the 50 Free, good for fourth overall.

Cassidy would go on to post a second-place finish in the 100 Free with a time of 50.03, before Fay took home the top spot in the 100 Back with a time of 56.53. Parsons would also take home a victory on the day, winning the 50 Fly with a time of 24.40. To wrap up the day, Michael Normoyle finished second-overall int he 100 Individual Medley with a time of 56.74.

Springfield will return to action on Sunday, January 11 when it travels to Union College to take part in a tri-meet with Union and Hartwick.
