Winter Haven, Fla.- March 17, 2015-  The Springfield College softball program dropped a pair of games at the Rebel Spring Games on Tuesday as part of its annual spring break trip to Florida.  The Pride fell 3-0 to Ramapo College, before suffering a 7-0 setback to Messiah in the nightcap.

Ramapo 3, Springfield 0

Ramapo established an early lead in the game after slating two runs in the first inning, as Danielle Saporito (Nutley, N.J.) started the rally for the Roadrunners with a two-out walk, before the next batter, Melissa Moreno (Cranford, N.J.), doubled down the left field line to score Saporito.

Melanie Walling (Freehold, N.J.) added an additional run with a single up the middle to score Moreno from second base.

Ramapo strung together another rally in the fifth with singles from Ally Spellman (Bloomingdale N.J.) and Grace Brennan (Old Bridge, N.J.), before Jaclyn Lima (Linden, N.J.) reached on a fielding error to load the bases with one out.  Mikayla Melendez (Woodland Park, N.J.), who came on as a pinch hitter was struck by a pitch and awarded first base, moving the runners over to put the score at 3-0.

The Pride only mustered four hits in the game, two of which were off the bat of Camdyn Morgillo (West Haven, Conn.). Freshman infielder Kirsten Drobiak (Jewett City, Conn.) and Brielle Engelbrecht (Granby, Mass.) each registered a hit apiece.

Although only surrendering five hits on the day, Nicole Cring (Cooperstown, N.Y.) suffered the loss for the Pride as Ramapo was able to capitalize with runners on base.

Messiah 7, Springfield 0

The Pride's bats were silenced in the second game of the day against Messiah as Springfield only connected for three hits in seven innings. Messiah struck in the third inning with an RBI ground out from Tina Lehman (Delmar, Del.).

Lehman singled in the top of the fifth, to collect her second RBI of the day and give the Falcons a 2-0 lead. With the score at 5-0, Sydney Boreman (New Cumberland, Pa.) wrangled home two more runs with a single to extend Messiah's lead to seven.
